As a sophomore, I entered my first business plan competition with the Morehouse College Entrepreneurship Center. This writing sample is a copy of that business proposal, which resulted in my selection as one of the top 5 finalists to compete in the last round.

 

  

SOPHOMORE-YEAR COMPOSITIONS

Recruitment Flyers for Events Hosted by the Spelman College Economics Club

 

As a sophomore, I served on the executive board of the Spelman College Economics Club as the Co-Publicity Chair. (I would later assume the role of Vice-President my junior year.) This position entailed creating "awesome" flyers to recruit Spelman College economics majors (or students also interested in business) to events and club meetings. See below for examples of my work in composing club flyers/announcements.

Prezi on Personal Finance

 

My sophomore year, I decided to take a personal finance course at Clark Atlanta University. The end-of-course requirement was to develop a personal financial plan for a fictitious client. This presentation is a condensed version of the personal financial plan that I developed for my clients. 

Prezi on Panama's Relationship with the United States

 

Not only have I written in essay format, but I have also developed presentations using PowerPoint and its more modern companion, Prezi. In this presentation presented with another Spelman College student (Amber Banks), I explore Panama's relationship with the United States from the 1880's to the present. 

"Critical Analysis of Our Belief System"

 

I also took a course on national government my sophomore year. As an end-of-semester term paper, I composed an analysis alongside four other Spelman College students (listed in the document) on our political belief system in order to understand what beliefs we share in common that cause us to think the same politically.
